“The Hungry Earth” aired, in which the 11th Doctor, Amy, and Rory travel to Wales in 2020, where Amy falls into a hole in the earth and is taken hostage by the Silurians. On the other hand, the Doctor and Rory capture a Silurian, Alaya. The Doctor takes the TARDIS underground to talk to the Silurians and save Amy. This is the first episode of a two-part story, concluded by “Cold Blood”.
